Lee Gilman, LMFT, CST
I believe that for us to truly grow, we need to challenge our preconceived notions of ourselves and our experiences, as these fundamentally shape our understanding of truth. We are deeply interconnected, even when we might feel alone. Our lives are woven with the thousands of others who have influenced and helped create who we are today.
I approach my work from a systemic perspective, which means I view the world as a vast ball of yarn. Each string represents our connectedness – the relationships that tie us to our culture, family, history, and future.
As a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified sex therapist, I believe that an effective approach to client care should be as diverse as the clients themselves. Therefore, I utilize a multifaceted and integrated approach in our work together, incorporating several different modalities. My primary theoretical foundation is the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, in which I am Level 2 trained (and soon to be Level 3), providing a dynamic framework for our sessions.
I am passionate about working with men's issues and supporting couples through challenges that can be difficult to identify or discuss. I also have experience working with intersectional identities that may not always be at the forefront of mainstream society.
My approach is affirming of gender, LGBTQ+, polyamorous, kink, and consensually non-monogamous relationships. In our sessions, I strive to create an environment of warmth and acceptance, while also fostering accountability and, occasionally, sharing a painfully awful dad joke.
Currently accepting new clients.
I am partnered with Mindful Therapy Group.
